Obituary

Robert (Bob) Edward Chichester Sr was doing what he loved, fishing the Skagit River, when he unexpectedly passed away on September 21, 2018.  Born on March 22, 1942 in Anacortes, WA to Milton & Lillian Chichester, Bob was the youngest of their three sons.

Bob lived his entire life in Skagit County. He helped his dad run the family butcher shop.  Bob served in the Army from 1964 to 1966 and was deployed to Vietnam. He started commercial fishing in 1959 when he was in high school and continued fishing in Puget Sound until 1989. Bob worked for Fish and Wildlife for over 30 years, retiring in 2002.  Bob had a passion for fishing, hunting, and tending his vegetable and flower gardens.  You would often find him in his shop fixing things or carving items in wood, such as fish, crabs and guns.

He was preceded in death by his parents Milton & Lillian, and his brothers, Dick and Dave Chichester.  He leaves behind Janet (Fawn) Chichester, his beloved wife of 36 years; two sons, Bob Chichester Jr (Elsa) & Rick Chichester; three stepchildren, Carrie Hartz, Shawn Hartz and Scott Hartz (Doe); eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 1-3pm at the Mount Vernon First United Methodist Church, 1607 E Division St.
