Robert Lewis (Louie)McGruder Jr.,65, passed away Thursday July 19, 2018. Robert was born in Lansing Michigan on March 8, 1953 to Robert L. McGruder and Martha L. Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his older brother Elmo Williams and his father Robert Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jaimie (Bos)McGruder, his Mother, Martha L Cager, his first wife Sara-mother of his two daughters, Autumn C., S. Bellamy, and Omni S. Bulthuis (Justin). Robert is also survived by his Daughter Tayshia LaRae Sims, (Eric) and Son Jordan Bos (Magaly)
Surviving Siblings, are Antoinette Calhoun(Arthur), Gloria Goldman(Odell), Patricia, Brian(Roberta) and Mary McElrath. Robert was Papa, to D'Andre, Devon, Tayshaun, Aiden and one beautiful Grand Daughter Maliyah.
Robert joined the Military, (USN) in July 1971 and retired in November 1992 following twenty-two years of faithful and honorable service at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. While on active duty he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2), Navy Good Conduct Medal (5), National Defense Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), and a Letter of Commendation.
Robert made his home in Mount Vernon, Washington, with his Wife Jaimie and family. Robert leaves behind a tremendous group of friends and acquaintances. He was a kind, loving man who cared deeply for his family. If you were lucky to be called "friend" then he considered you family! He will be missed by so many people, young, old and in-between! He was like that! Our hearts ache and the pain is so real. But our saving grace for this imperfect man, is that we have so many beautiful, crazy, zany and some we can't name, precious memories, because we know we will see the perfect, loving, father, papa, husband, friend in Eternity.
