Bob was born February 22, 1926 in Topeka, KS to Fred and Mawdie Williams. The family moved to Santa Ana, CA in 1939 and he entered the US Navy in 1944. Bob served in the Pacific during World War II, including Saipan, Eniwetok, and D-Day in Iwo Jima.
After the service, Bob met and married Virginia Head in 1948 and settled in Santa Ana with the love of his life. Bob was a very talented artist who had a rare gift, painting portraits, landscapes, and other subjects with equal ability. He was most widely known for his hand painted coffee cups. While living in California, he created several mugs for the film industry including 23 John Wayne movies for the cast and crew.
In 1963, Bob and Virginia moved their family to Mount Vernon where Bob proudly would state he "mugged" just about everyone in the county.
Bob was well known for his kind heart and devout faith. His sense of humor and smile touched all he met.
Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 70 years, his daughters Nan Rosinbum (Mark), Jill Powell (Kim), son, Stan (Becky), five grandchildren, Savahn, Alex (Valerie), Travis (Rikki), Marlee, Sally, and one great granddaughter, Simone.
To honor Bob's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Northwest.
