IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald
Walt
June 12, 1941 – July 23, 2024
Ronald S. Walt of Mt. Vernon, Washington passed away after a long illness on July 23, 2024, at 83 years of age.
He grew-up in Grand Junction, Colorado where he enjoyed rock hunting and driving an antique WWII jeep around the Grand Mesa. Ron graduated from George Washington University in Washington DC, interned on Capitol Hill and during this time met his wife, Dorothy. After college, he joined the U.S. Army rising to the rank of captain at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. Ron and Dorothy would later move to Juneau, Alaska where their daughter was born. Ron traveled extensively throughout Alaska as an economic development officer for the State of Alaska and in his free time loved fishing with his family on his boat, the Salty Scott, and hiking in the woods. He retired to Mt. Vernon, Washington where he built a home overlooking a lake and ran Hill Spring Farms. Ron most enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the Pacific Northwest and will be known for his never-ending support to family, his humor and as an excellent storyteller. He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sisters-in-law.
