Rosalie J. (VanPelt) Omholt, 83 of Burlington, WA, passed away April 18, 2011. Rosalie was born December 12, 1927, in Renton, WA to Simon and Johanna (Schols) VanPelt. Rosalie met and began dating Archie (Harlan) Omholt in her freshman year. World War II came along and separated them for two years. Rosalie graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1946. After a year long engagement, she married Archie in Mt. Vernon on March 14, 1947. In 1950, they moved to Eureka, CA where they raised their four children. They both returned to Skagit County in 1985. Rosalie's interests included family, gardening, garage saleing on the weekends, crafting, cooking and playing bingo with her daughters. Rosalie is survived by her husband, Archie, of 64 years and her four children, Roger (Emily) Omholt; Cindy (Bill) Miner; Terri Omholt and Greg Omholt; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Tai), Jason, Jennnifer, Gage, Julia, Shelby and Cameron; three great gandchildren, Jason, Annie Belle and Lilly, her three brothers, Henry, John (Maggie) and Richard (Bev), sister-in-law Bernice Dolin and many nieces and nephews. Rosalie was cremated and buried at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Mount Vernon, WA. An open house celebrating her life will be held at her residence located at 565 Poplar Place, Burlington, WA, on Friday, April 22, 2011, from 2 to 4.
