Obituary

Roy Little of Burlington, Washington, passed away March 2, 2013 in Everett, Washington after an extended illness. Born February 6, 1942 in Everett, Washington to Elenore and Warren (Al) Little of Alderwood Manor, he was 71. In 1960, Roy graduated from Edmonds High School and then went on to work at Boeing before attending and graduating Everett Community College and the University of Washington, where he attained a teacher's certificate. He then taught Industrial Arts to disabled students at Lowell School in Seattle. He designed and built equipment to help his students function better and, as a result, led to Roy creating his own business, Adaptive Engineering Labs, Inc. Roy and his staff created many innovative solutions to unique situations suffered by many people, making a great number of people's lives easier and more independent. Roy was a member of the Northwest Woodworks Association, creating wooden toys for a number of different programs, including the Marines Toys for Tots program. He was also a long time amateur Radio Operator and talked to friends on the air every day. Roy is survived by his wife, Saundra, of 30 years. Son, Joe and daughter-inlaw, Sandra, of Mount Vernon. Grandchildren, Wanda (Jimmy) of Sedro Woolley, Joseph (Phylicia) of Everett, Tiffany (Daniel) of Anchorage, and Kennadi of Mount Vernon, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Lois of Centralia, Lila (David) of Aberdeen, and Sharon of Edmonds. And brothers, Warren of Lynnwood and Bill of Whidbey Island. Plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren (Al) and Elenore, sister Alice and brothers George and Jim. Roy touched many lives in his 71 years, he will be missed by all who knew him.
