Ruth S Mischke was born on August 15, 1918 in Reading PA, and died on November 16, 2012 in Sedro Woolley, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev Vernon E Mischke in 1990 and her daughter Lanie Mischke in 2008. Surviving are her sons Richard, David and Robert Mischke and 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ruth went to Lambuth College in Jackson TN where she met Vernon. They were married in 1939. Ruth began her teaching career in Clinton, KY and was very involved in the National Story League. In 2002 Ruth moved to Mt Vernon, bought a condo, acquired her cat "Katie" and lived an independent lifestyle. She played violin with the Skagit Symphony, swam regularly at the YMCA and tutored foreign students in English. In 2009 she moved to Country Meadows along with "Katie" and enjoyed retirement there for her remaining years. Education was always a priority for Ruth as evidenced by her teaching and tutoring. Memorial services will be held at the 1st Baptist Church in Sedro Woolley on Tuesday, Nov 27 at 11:00 AM.
