Sandra was born in Bellingham, WA on May 19, 1938 to John and Eunice (Soens) Weckert; she passed away November 24, 2024 in Kirkland, WA surrounded by family. The family moved to Mount Vernon, WA in 1943, where Sandra attended her school years, graduating from Mount Vernon High School in 1956. When her kids were young she worked with grade school children at lunch time and at sports. She was an assistant leader for her daughter's, Elizabeth and Suzanne's, 4-H group and travelled around for their horse shows. She attended all baseball and sporting events for her son, Gary. Sandra worked for GTE and retired as an instructor for Business Reps in 1991. She then worked part time with her husband's business, Microtech Engineering, they both retired from there in 2000. In March of 2000 they purchased a home in North Scottsdale and sold their home in Redmond. Now they were snowbirds. They built their current home in Bothell. Sandra's son lived with his family in and near Barcelona, Spain, they were able to visit quite often travelling in and around Barcelona and up into France. Sandra also travelled to other parts of France, Spain, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, South Korea, Japan, Chile and every year plus to Mexico—her favorite place. Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Ward; children: Elizabeth (Steve) Piergrossi, Gary (Isabelle) Kamb, Suzanne Kamb and step-daughter: Laura (Tom) Little; grandchildren: Lisa Methven, John (Jenny) Baker, Jacqueline (George) Zelaya, Jeremy Kamb, Gabriella Kamb; great-grandchildren: Elijah and Noelle Zelaya and Isabella and Zoe Baker; sisters: Janice Heidt, Susan Duffy, Christie Scoville; brother: Father Paul (Michael) Weckert and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son: Steve Emigh. A funeral mass will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Brendan's Catholic Church (10051 NE 195th St, Bothell) followed by a time of reception at the church. Committal prayers will follow at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery.
