Obituary

Scott Phillip Greydanus of Bethel Alaska passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday May 6, 2021. He was born to Phillip and Ina Greydanus in Seattle Washington on May 12, 1961.

Scott attended Mount Vernon Christian School through the 8 th grade and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1980.  He moved to Bethel Alaska in the spring of 1981 where he built his home, career and family.  He enjoyed all of the hunting, fishing, trapping, running the river and every adventure that Alaska had to offer.

He started Alaska River Runners and took many people salmon fishing. For the last 26 years he worked as a tug boat captain, making many trips up and down the Kuskokwim River with supplies for the villages.

Scott is survived by his wife Stephanie, sons Donald, Ryan and Nate. Step children Lindsey (Mikey), Alishia, and Trent (Tiffany).  Grandsons Aden and Tyler.  Sisters Cindy Greydanus and Cheryl Gifford, brothers Steve (Teci) Greydanus, Stuart (Elsie) Greydanus and Brian Greydanus. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends and his sidekick Miller.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother in law Gary Gifford.

Scott will be lovingly remembered along every bend and sandbar of the Kuskokwim River, which was his favorite place to be.

Memorial service will be held Friday August 13, 2021 at 3:00pm at The Vinery at Christianson's Nursery, 15806 Best Road, Mount Vernon.
