Obituary

Sorena would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call on March 12, 2018, on her 72nd Birthday, with an offer that she could not refuse, for which she will not be returning. This offer comes with a huge sign on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time; her parents William and Gladys Cook, numerous aunts and uncles, close friends and her God Daughter Glenda Lindall. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, singing, knitting and reading to her heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. The food is delicious and the wine is ever flowing. She left detailed instructions for her husband; Wayne Brusseau, her children; Thad and Carrie Brusseau, Trena and Ron Humerickhouse, Grandchildren; Riley Brusseau, Colby Griffiths, Bryce Humerickhouse, Seth Humerickhouse, siblings; William Cook and Gwil Evans, Lorry and Terri Cook, Paula and Tony Haney and numerous nieces and nephews to celebrate her mission on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Vernon WA. with a luncheon to follow. As part of her final instructions, she requests that no black is to be worn and to celebrate with tears of joy.
Sorena's many other missions include; working thirty plus years for Skagit County Medical Bureau/Regence, actively working and supporting her Church, volunteering for; Thrivent, Habitat for Humanity and Family Promise.
She loved spending time with her family and friends; traveling, camping, bowling and being the loudest cheerleader for all of her "kids" sporting events. Her favorite place to relax and reflect was the Kramzalott Inn.
Sorena "The Big Boss" is now passes on her apron to her little Sister Paula, Lil Boss is now Trena, Boss in training is now Carrie, "You're not the boss of me" is now Trish and Slacker Boss is Candi.
In lieu of flowers, donations to S & W Foundation Transitional Housing, a Non-Profit organization, that supplies housing for homeless families in Skagit County would be a blessing. Donations can be made to: 3448 Woodland Dr, Mt. Vernon, WA or at her celebration.
