Stephen L. McCauley, a retired Deputy Sheriff and Vietnam Veteran, passed away at age 62 on August 13, 2013. Steve was a lifelong Northwest resident who attended high school in Bellingham, Washington. After Steve's military service, he was employed by the Whatcom County Sheriffs Department for 28 years. When not working, you could always find Steve on one of his many motorcycles at the racetrack. Racing was truly his passion. Stephen is survived by his sister, Barbara Iverson, and by his niece, Keli Mumford, and nephew, Chad Iverson. A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Saturday, September 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, Washington.
