Terry, loving father and brother, passed unexpectedly December, 23 2011. He grew up in Skagit County and attended Mt.Vernon High. Terry began working as a heavy equipment operator at Dunlap Towing Log Yard in LaConner at a young age of 16. His job later took him to Olympia where he met Michelle, his wife. They soon moved to Lake Stevens to reside and raise their two sons, Tyler and Brandon. He continued to work at the Everett log yard until 2007. Just recently he was reunited with his family and boys after a long separation and was full of excitement and life. He was looking forward to spending time with his sons, hiking, camping, working on cars, and fishing. He loved to fish, and his favorite spot will always be a secret. He and his sons were looking for property for them to build on. "Pops" had a passion for cooking, and could put anything together. As a gourmet chef, he was sure to add love to his creations. He was known by family and friends for his kind heart and generosity. Terry is survived by his son's Tyler and Brandon. Sisters: Patty (Anthony) Hernandez, Carali (Dave) Moe, Sue Thomas (Bruce Walker). Nephews and nieces: Jesse, Adam, Marrio, Rae, Amy, and Sadie. He was preceded in death by Michelle VanAllen, parents: Calvin and Carla VanAllen, and his sister Sally Stromberg. An open house celebration of Terry's life will be held at the home of Dave and Carali Moe on Saturday January 7th from 1-3 pm. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories of Terry.
