Obituary

Thomas passed away peacefully in Concrete, WA on April 17, 2024. Thomas was born in McMinnville, OR on October 4, 1948. Thomas graduated from Burlington Edison High School, joined the Army, got out of the Army and not long after married his wife, Lynne Benjamin, on December 1, 1972. Together Thomas and Lynn opened Café Moka in the summer of 1992. This was the first drive through coffee stand in Skagit County and developed into a successful coffee chain.

Thomas enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling, tinkering/woodwork, and 50's,60's and 70's music. Thomas was apart of many organizations including the Kendall Lions Club, and South Skagit Little League as a coach and president.

Thomas is survived by his wife (Lynn Hotchkiss), son (Matthew Hotchkiss), son (Christopher Hotchkiss and daughter in law Katie Hotchkiss), Daughter (Holli Hotchkiss), Grandchildren: Hailie Hotchkiss, Kyle Hotchkiss, Courtney Hacker, Duncan Hanson, Hannah Hotchkiss, Heather Compton, Jacob Compton, Tommy Hotchkiss, brothers Dale Hotchkiss, Ron Bingel and sister-in-law Sophie Bingel. Thomas was preceded in death by his father Thomas Stanley Hotchkiss, Sr. and mother Virgina Stonebarger.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1:00pm at the American Legion in Burlington, WA.
