Thomas Michael Henry, "Mike" was born September 24th,1949 to Tom and Lillian Henry in Seattle Washington. On January 4th, 2025 after a long and valiant battle with Parkinson's disease he joined his Lord and Savior in the Kingdom of Heaven at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Linda; son Justin (Marie), daughter Jamie (Jase), grandchildren Tyler (Dakota), Andrew, Harlon and Addie Mae; two sisters, Cheri (Raymond) and Lori (Bob).
Mike grew up in Mount Vernon, Washington along with his sisters Cheri and Lori. Mike attended Mount Vernon High School where he was a football and track standout setting a long-held Northwest League shot put record in his senior season. He attended and played a season of football at Pacific Lutheran University before deciding to enlist in the Army. He was a Physical Therapy Specialist rehabilitating the locals and our troops while stationed in Korea. Mike earned an honorable discharge from the military in February 1971, after which he joined his parents in the family business, Hugo Helmer Music. Shortly after his discharge he met the love of his life Linda, they were married November 6th, 1971. They had two children, Justin and Jamie. Mike successfully grew Hugo Helmer Music into an iconic area business. During that time he had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, soccer, golf, and motorcycle riding, all of which he strived for perfection. Mike and Linda enjoyed traveling, including trips to Hawaii, Texas and Maryland to visit Jamie and her family. Their most memorable trip was a motorcycle tour of the European Alps. What he loved most was his family, including them in all his hobbies and pursuits.
Mike will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Freeborn Lutheran Church in Stanwood, Washington on Friday, January 10th at 1:00 pm with a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers the family would request a donation in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
While Mike has moved on to a better place his impact on those he touched will be eternal. Though we mourn the loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived. Thanks for being the best husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. We love you, we miss you and we will continue to make you proud. May you rest in peace.
