IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Alan
Thornton
May 20, 1963 – October 29, 2021
Timothy Alan Thornton, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 29, 2021, in Mount Vernon, WA. Born in Everett, WA to Lyman and Marjorie Thornton, Tim grew up in Everett and graduated from Cascade High School class of 1981.
Tim was a natural athlete, a fierce competitor and worthy opponent. He loved hockey, baseball, basketball and golf. He was a walking encyclopedia of facts and statistics.
His favorite times were playing croquet and pinochle with his family. He enjoyed camping, hiking, ferry rides, endless days on the beach playing bocce ball and searching for sand dollars rain or shine, and reading late into the night eating cookies and milk. He loved music, especially live music and attended as many venues as he possibly could.
He was a hopeless romantic, making handwritten and decorated cards, and searching for just the right thoughtful gifts, cooking special meals, and spending evenings dancing in the kitchen. He kept his home filled with flowers and enjoyed filling up the gardens every Spring and Fall. He would often take these flowers to friends and family.
Tim was a kind and generous "give you the shirt off his back" kind of guy. He had an incredible mind and imagination focused giving and helping others. He spent time giving food and clothing to the homeless and donating to the community food banks and shelters. Tim believed in equal rights for everyone.
Tim had a smile you could not help but love, and a fun-loving sense of humor, always quick with a hug and a love you.
Tim is survived by his wife Michelle, parents Lyman and Marjorie Thornton, sister Lori (Cris) Gellerson, brother Ted Thornton, former spouse Anita Thornton and their sons Bennett, Kyle and Samuel Thornton, nephew Riley and niece Quin Gellerson, godmother Barb Richards and many cousins. Tim is preceded in death by grandparents Bennett and Ida Lewison, and Lyman and Lillian Thornton.
Ima gonna miss u Powder, thanks for being you.
-Michelle-
