Ty Youngren, beloved father, husband, and son, passed away at his home in Mount Vernon on July 8, 2011. He was born on April 5, 1970, in Fort Riley, Kansas. Ty graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1988, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed as a spray operator at Skagit Farmers Supply. Ty enjoyed many outdoor activities, including basketball and snowboarding, and was an avid video game player. He was a huge Steelers fan and enjoyed proudly rooting for his favorite team. His greatest enjoyment was gleaned from spending time with his family. Ty is survived by his wife of 9 years, Carrie; his three children, Zoie, age 6, Vance, age 4, and Arya, age 2; as well as his parents Bill and Jean Youngren of Bow; parents-in-law Cisco and Sandy Flores of Burlington; grandmothers Alice Grimmius of Mount Vernon and Ruby Youngren of Burlington; and brother-in-law Paul Flores of Everett. Ty will be remembered as an honest, hard-working man with a quick wit. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, from 1pm-4pm at 5713 Capricorn Lane, Bow. All are welcome to attend this picnic-style gathering. A memorial fund for the Youngren family has been established at Skagit State Bank.
