Valerie A Barker, 71, of Concrete, left this earth to reunite with her loving husband Ronald on October 3, 2022.  She passed away peacefully in the presence of her two daughters.  Valerie was born in Everett, WA on October 4,1950 to Daniel and Violet Brooks.  Valerie had 3 brothers Jim, Richard, and Daniel Brooks II.

She was united in marriage to Ronald T Barker on August 18,1984.  They made their home in Lynnwood WA for 25 years before retiring to Concrete WA.  With 5 children between them they became a family of 7.

Valerie was a member of the Baha'i Faith for over 40 years.  She served as Secretary for the Snohomish SW Baha'i Assembly and participated in community events.  Valerie and Ron enjoyed the annual Baha'i Council visit to Neah Bay WA.  They also visited the Holy Land in Haifa, Israel, in February 2002 and enjoyed the fellowship of Bahai's from all over the world.

Valerie enjoyed baking, sewing, RVing, Bingo, crocheting, Scrabble, the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners. She and Ron traveled across the US several times, visiting family, friends, and exploring new places along the way.  Valerie was one with her sewing machine.  Making clothes, costumes, toys, and blankets for those she loved.  Valerie's greatest love was being a wife, mother, grandmother and a good friend to those she knew.  She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Valerie leaves behind her beloved daughters - Susan and husband Gordon Towne of Concrete WA, Sandra and husband Ralph Prothero Jr of Mount Vernon WA, sons - Richard Barker of Susanville CA, Ralph Barker of Lemoore CA, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and another great grandson due any day.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Violet Brooks, husband Ronald T Barker, son Dale D Allison "Chuck" and 4 grandchildren

A small graveside service to be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 11:00 am.
