Son Lonnie (Darlene) Mathis Granddaughter Heather (Amir) Deyhimi Great Granddaughter Nicoleta Deyhimi.
Daughter Robbyn (John) Seymour Granddaughter Lorriann (Wade) Smythe, Great Grandson Kylun Wall Great, great Granddaughter Saharia,
Great Granddaughter Jenna (Jordan) Pollock Great Great granddaughter Jaylee Leona Pollock, Great Granddaughter Darian Smythe, Great Grand Keeli Smythe.
Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ora Mathis
Brothers Eryl Cummings, Lee Mathis, Kenneth Mathis, Lonnie Mathis, and twin brother Vernon Mathis.
Virgil moved from Oklahoma to Sedro Woolley where he graduated from High School. He joined the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. After an Honorable discharge he married Leona Mills of Sedro Woolley, He worked as a logger, Montgomery Wards later opening and operating Virgs' Wheel Alignment . After selling the business he went to work at Warm Beach Health Care Center where he did maintenance and helped with the development of the mobile home court. He has been an active member of the Free Methodist Church (Hillcrest Church) where he was valued for his willingness to do anything he was asked to do. Dad has many friends who will miss him. Above all Dad loved his Lord, his family, his Church. Memorials can be made to Gideons International. Viewing will be Friday January 27th at Hawthorn Lawn College Way Mount Vernon. A Memorial service will be held Saturday January 28th 2:00pm Hillcrest Church 1830 S. 13th Mount Vernon WA A special Thank you to Dr. Bylund & Cari, the emergency Department and 3rd floor staff of Skagit Valley Hospital and the many staff members of Hospice.
