Vivian H. Fredlund
Vivian Hazel was born in Everson, Washington, to Arthur and Selma (Westrud) Rushold October 21, 1926 and passed away October 1, 2018.
Vivian grew up in Nooksack, Washington with her siblings Harland, Alta, Sylvia, Gladys, and Myrtle. She attended Harmony School and graduated from Mount Baker High School in 1944. She met the love of her life, John Gordon Fredlund, at a dance at the Wickersham Grange. They were married September 28, 1946. They made their home in Burlington. Vivian enjoyed her years taking care of their five children, working at General/Continental Telephone Co., bowling, gardening, canning, sewing, and baking - she made sure her cookie jar was always full and there were Swedish Pancakes on the weekend morning table. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, watching the Mariners, doing puzzles, and winning at cribbage. She cherished her time with grandchildren and great grandchildren; she attended school and sports events and displayed their artwork with pride. Visits with nieces and nephews were treasured.
Vivian moved from her home on the family farm to a condo at Salem Village in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed the time she spent and the friends she made while living there. She also appreciated the special caregivers while living at Mt. Glen Retirement Community. Vivian was a member of Salem Lutheran church; she had a strong faith in God and was ready to join Him in heaven.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband and her son Delbert.
She is survived by her children and their families: Barbara Lynn - David & Stephanie Lynn and daughters Alexa and Addison, Stacy & Eric Pratt and children Stephanie, Jacob, and Claire. Richard & Nancy Fredlund - Honor Fredlund & Mike Brandt and daughters Veronika and Ellenor Brandt and McKenzie (Matt) Gaither, Camron & Polly Fredlund and daughters Sigrid and Louisa. Susan Fredlund - Michael Fredlund and children Emma and Colin, Josh & Tracie Fredlund and children Audrey and Delbert, Jessica Fredlund. Jim & Cheri Fredlund - Adam Fredlund and son Phoenix, Chris & Ashley Fredlund and daughter Brooke. Julie & Steve Sager - Kelsey, Kevin and Korey.
A private family Graveside Service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 3:00pm at Salem Lutheran Church, 2529 N. La Venture Road, Mount Vernon. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Northwest or Salem Lutheran Church.
