William "David" Green passed peacefully in his sleep at the Warm Beach Health Care Center in Stanwood, WA on February 18, 2018. David was born to Otis and Muriel Green in Eldorado, KS on April 5, 1928. He was the second of three children. His father worked for Bates & Rogers Construction Company. The family traveled with his jobs, and so David attended 12 different schools. He graduated high school in Kingwood, WV. David entered military service in 1946, and served in the Army Air Corp from 1946-1949. Upon his discharge, he attended Indiana Technical College and graduated with an Industrial Engineer Degree. David married and had two children, Deborah and Warren. David began his career with 3M as an Industrial Engineer. He became a representative of a shoe distributor and traveled throughout the Midwest. David worked in commercial cleaning in Minnesota, and eventually moved to California and started a new commercial cleaning service. He retired in 1992 and moved to Medford, Oregon where he met Barbara Webster. They were married in May 1993 and moved to Sedro Woolley in January 2005.
David was passionate about flying, he flew P-51 during his military service. He loved his church, gospel music, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and building model airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his parents Otis Claycomb Green and Murial Spain Green, his sisters Nancy (Bill) Thielman and Sally Aschom and a stepson, Stephen South. David is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Deborah (Roger) Stevens of Windermere, FL and Warren (Julie) Green of Oak Park, IL and his step-son, Robert (Christina) South; grandchildren, Christopher (Amelia) Stevens, Mindy (Stephen) Snyder, Benjamin (Roxanna) Stevens, Eli Green, Rachel Green, Catherine (Matt) Jackson, Nicholas South, Bobby South, Cindy South, Kyler South, Joy South, Beth Anderson and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at North Cascade Christian Fellowship Church; 118 North Ball St, Sedro Woolley, WA 98284.
